Chennai crowd had plenty to cheer about as Chennai Super Kings put up a competitive total of 180/7 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 63 of the Indian Premier League 2026.
After a blazing start from Sanju Samson, it was Dewald Brevis who played the most impactful innings of the night. The young South African looked in sublime touch and gave CSK the momentum they needed in the middle overs.

Sanju Samson Gives CSK a Flying Start
CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad chose to bat first after winning the toss at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Sanju Samson came out with positive intent and attacked from the very first ball. He smashed Nitish Kumar Reddy for a six straight down the ground and followed it up with a series of crisp boundaries.
Samson raced to 27 off just 13 balls and looked set for a big innings. However, Pat Cummins provided SRH with an early breakthrough when Samson edged one behind to Ishan Kishan.
Despite the wicket, CSK had already gained momentum.
Urvil Patel Falls After Brief Fireworks
Young opener Urvil Patel continued his aggressive approach and struck two massive sixes off Cummins.
