The dCas9-VPR overexpressing cell line is a genetically engineered model where a nuclease-deactivated Cas9 (dCas9) is fused with the VPR transcriptional activator (VP64, p65, Rta). Guided by sgRNA, dCas9-VPR binds specific genomic sites to robustly activate target gene expression without cutting DNA.
