I recently installed the tomato smart tv app on my Android TV because I wanted a smoother anime streaming experience on a larger screen. Honestly, I expected another heavy streaming app with slow menus and constant buffering, but the performance has actually been surprisingly decent so far.

The biggest advantage for me was the TV-friendly layout. Some anime apps work well on phones but become frustrating on Smart TVs because remote navigation feels awkward. Tomato at least seems more optimized for larger screens.

A few things I noticed during testing:

Fast anime episode loading
Smooth fullscreen playback
Good subtitle visibility
Lightweight interface performance

Of course, streaming quality still depends heavily on internet speed and TV hardware. During peak evening hours, a few streams buffered on Wi-Fi, although Ethernet improved stability significantly.

For longtime users:

Which Smart TVs currently run it best?
Any recommended playback settings?
Does the app receive updates often?
How stable is HD anime streaming during long sessions?

I mainly watch anime late at night, so smooth playback matters much more to me than flashy design. Would appreciate hearing real experiences from users who stream regularly on Android TVs or TV boxes.
