I was reviewing fragrance concepts for my next idea when an unexpected late-night discussion with a supplier made me realize how many people still ask what is oud perfume and why it’s considered so special. Oud perfume is made using oil derived from agarwood trees, which produce a rare resin when naturally infected, creating a deep, rich, and complex scent. This fragrance is known for its woody, smoky, slightly sweet, and sometimes leathery notes that evolve slowly on the skin. Unlike regular perfumes, oud is highly concentrated and long-lasting, often staying noticeable for many hours. It has been used for centuries in Middle Eastern culture and is often associated with luxury, elegance, and strong personal presence. I’m trying to understand and find oud perfumes that feel authentic, smooth, and long-lasting rather than overly synthetic. Has anyone here experienced a true oud perfume that really delivers depth and a premium scent experience?
