ROHS Certification is a mandatory compliance requirement for companies that manufacture, import, or export electrical and electronic products. RoHS stands for Restriction of Hazardous Substances and is based on a directive issued by the European Union. The regulation limits the use of hazardous materials such as lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB, and PBDE to protect human health and the environment. Products exceeding the specified limits cannot be legally sold in EU member states.
