Fildena is a medication primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction. It contains Sildenafil, the same active ingredient as Viagra. There are several important considerations for when Fildena should not be taken: 1. Allergy to Sildenafil If you have a known allergy to Sildenafil or any of the other ingredients in Fildena, you should not take it. 2. Nitrates or Nitroglycerin Use If you are taking nitrate medications (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate) for chest pain or heart problems, you should not take Fildena . The combination of these medications and Sildenafil can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. 3. Severe Heart or Liver Problems If you have severe heart problems (e.g., severe heart failure, unstable angina, recent heart attack) or liver disease, Fildena may not be safe for you. 4. Severe Low Blood Pressure (Hypotension) If you have a history of low blood pressure or your blood pressure is currently below 90/60 mmHg, taking Fildena could further lower it to dangerous levels. 5. Recent Stroke or Heart Attack If you have had a stroke or heart attack in the past 6 months, it's important to speak to your doctor before taking Fildena, as sexual activity itself could put strain on your heart. 6. Retinitis Pigmentosa This is a rare inherited eye condition. If you have it, Sildenafil (Fildena) may not be suitable, as it can affect vision. 7. Severe Kidney Disease If you have severe kidney disease, your doctor may need to adjust the dosage or consider a different treatment option. 8. Penile Deformities or Priapism Risk If you have a history of penile deformities (e.g., Peyronie’s disease) or are at risk for priapism (a prolonged, painful erection), you should not use Fildena without consulting a doctor. 9. Use with Other ED Medications You should not take Fildena if you are already using other erectile dysfunction medications (such as Viagra, Cialis, or Levitra). 10. Drug Interactions Certain drugs may interact with Fildena, including medications for high blood pressure, HIV medications, antifungals, and antibiotics. Always let your doctor know about all medications you are taking before using Fildena. What to Do: Consult a doctor: Always speak to a healthcare provider before starting Fildena, especially if you have any pre-existing medical conditions or take other medications. Follow prescribed dosages: Never exceed the recommended dose and use Fildena only as directed.
