If Spotify Premium APK works on mobile data but refuses to play on Wi-Fi, the issue is usually network settings—not the app itself. Start with the basics: restart your router and reconnect your phone. Routers can block or misroute traffic after long uptimes, causing apps to fail silently.

Next, check Wi-Fi restrictions on your Android device. Go to Settings ? Apps ? Spotify ? Mobile data & Wi-Fi and make sure Allow network access and Background data are enabled. If Spotify can’t use Wi-Fi in the background, playback may stall or fail to load.

Another common culprit is DNS or Private DNS. Some networks use strict DNS filtering that blocks Spotify servers. Try switching Private DNS to Automatic or temporarily disable it. You can also test by changing DNS to a public option (like Google DNS) if your device allows it.

Check Proxy/VPN settings too. If a VPN is enabled, turn it off and retry—many Wi-Fi networks throttle or block streaming through VPNs. Similarly, disable any proxy configured on your Wi-Fi connection.

Don’t forget battery optimization. Android may limit background network activity on Wi-Fi. Set Spotify’s battery usage to Unrestricted so it maintains a stable connection.

Finally, consider APK version compatibility. Some builds don’t play nicely with certain routers or Android versions. If the problem persists, uninstall Spotify, reboot your phone, and install a stable, compatible version rather than forcing the newest update.

In most cases, fixing Wi-Fi permissions, DNS/VPN conflicts, and battery restrictions restores smooth playback instantly.
