Introduction: The Glittering Dilemma

Ah, Starglitter. That shimmering, hard-earned currency you accumulate every time you pull a character or weapon you didn't necessarily need from the limited-time banners. In Teyvat, Primogems get you the wishes, but Starglitter—the pink, sparkly stuff you get from dupes—is what keeps your engine running for the truly important purchases.

If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably got a decent stack of Starglitter sitting there, whispering tempting promises. Should you splurge on that highly coveted Constellation 1 for your favorite 4-star? Or maybe, just maybe, you should snag that rare cosmetic item?

Making the wrong choice can leave you regretting it when that must-have item pops up in Paimon’s Bargains next month. This comprehensive Genshin Guide is here to break down exactly where your precious Starglitter is best invested, ensuring you maximize the value of every single sparkle.

Understanding Paimon’s Bargains: The Two Main Sections

Paimon’s Bargains refreshes monthly, offering two distinct sections: the Standard Wish Characters/Weapons section and the Stardust Exchange section (which sells Intertwined and Acquaint Fates).

The key to smart spending lies in understanding the rotation and the inherent value of what each section offers.

The Standard Wish Character & Weapon Rotation: The Main Event

This section is where most of your Starglitter should eventually go, especially early to mid-game. It features rotating 4-star characters and weapons from the Standard Banner pool.

What Characters to Prioritize (and Why)

The characters available here are often overlooked because they aren't featured on promotional banners, but many are absolute game-changers, particularly at higher Constellation levels (C1, C2, C4, C6).

1. Bennett (The Must-Have MVP)

If Bennett is available, buy him immediately. No excuses.

Bennett’s value skyrockets with his Constellations, especially C1 (which removes the HP restriction on his Fantastic Voyage burst) and C5 (which bumps his Burst talent level). He is arguably the single best 4-star unit in the entire game due to his unmatched ATK buffing capabilities combined with crucial healing. Even if you have him, grabbing a duplicate to increase his Constellation is often the wisest Starglitter sink available.

2. Fischl (The Electro Powerhouse)

Fischl is a fantastic off-field Electro applicator and a powerhouse main DPS at C6. Her Constellations improve her energy regeneration and damage output significantly. She’s a staple in Aggravate and Hyperbloom teams. If you lack a reliable Electro trigger, C6 Fischl is a worthy investment.

3. Xiangling (The Fire Demon)

Xiangling is another core member of the meta, particularly in Vaporize and Melt compositions. While her base kit is strong, her C4 (which provides a Pyro DMG Bonus after her Burst hits) and C6 (which provides an extra rotation of Pyronado) make a huge difference. If you don't have her, get her. If you need her final Constellations, prioritize her over almost anyone else.

4. Beidou (The Unsung Shielder/Burst DPS)

Beidou shines in single-target situations or against groups of enemies who can trigger her counter-attack frequently. Her C2 (Energy Recharge for the whole team) is massive. She is excellent for players utilizing Electro Resonance or needing a reliable burst of damage.

5. Other Worthy Mentions (Depending on Your Roster)

Chongyun: Excellent for Cryo application, especially if you run Melt teams or need to infuse a claymore user's attacks (like Noelle or Eula) with Cryo. His C2 (decreased skill cooldown) is great.
Kaeya: A solid Cryo applicator with good off-field damage from his Burst. His C1 provides a critical rate bonus.

The Rule of Thumb for Characters: If a character rotates through and you don't have them, buy them. If you have them and they are currently locked at C0, C1, C2, or C4, and they are on the list (especially Bennett or Xiangling), consider buying the duplicate to progress their Constellations.

What Weapons to Prioritize (The "Standard Banner Trap")

The standard weapons available in Paimon’s Bargains are often high-rarity weapons that standard banner pulls give you, but they are excellent tools nonetheless. They are generally recommended only if you actively need them for a specific character and are tired of waiting for them to appear randomly.

1. Sacrificial Weapons Series (Sacrificial Sword, Bow, Fragments)

This series is S-tier utility. Sacrificial weapons offer a chance to reset their skill cooldown upon dealing damage with an elemental skill.

Sacrificial Sword: Incredible for Xingqiu or Bennett (if you don't need the Favonius Sword).
Sacrificial Bow: Excellent for Fischl or Venti for quick energy recharge.
Sacrificial Fragments: Best-in-slot for many catalyst users focused on Skill spam (e.g., Sucrose).

If you are missing a high Refinement Rank (R3+) copy of one of these, and you use the corresponding character heavily, buying a copy with Starglitter is usually a sound investment.

2. The "Other" Contenders

The Bell (Claymore): Generally considered the weakest weapon in the shop rotation. Only buy if you are desperate for a temporary HP% stat stick.
Magic Guide (Catalyst): A niche 3-star weapon, but often best-in-slot for early-game Bloom/Electro-charged DPS due to its elemental mastery substat. Skip if you are mid-to-late game.
Widsith (Catalyst): A strong 4-star option, but usually superseded by high refinement Sacrificial Fragments or dedicated 5-star options. Only buy if you desperately need a Crit DMG/EM stat stick and have no alternatives.

The Rule of Thumb for Weapons: Prioritize weapons that grant utility (cooldown resets, energy refund) over raw damage stats, as utility is harder to obtain elsewhere. Only buy a weapon if you need a Refinement Rank (R3+) or if it perfectly fills a major gap in your current teams.

The Stardust Exchange: Fates vs. Resources

The Stardust Exchange sells Acquaint Fates (blue fates for Standard Banner) and Intertwined Fates (pink fates for Limited Banners) for 5 Stardust each. This is where the real debate lies for late-game players: Fates or direct character/weapon purchases?

Intertwined Fates vs. Direct Buys (Characters/Weapons)

For most players, Intertwined Fates (Pink Fates) should take priority here if there is a character or weapon you desperately want on the current limited banner, and you are very close to pity.

Why Fates are Risky: You are gambling. You might spend 50 Stardust (10 Fates) and still not get the featured item.

Why Direct Buys are Safe: You are guaranteeing progress towards a C1/C2/R2 of a rotated character/weapon that you know is powerful.

The Late-Game Strategy: If you are already comfortable with your core roster and are not actively pulling on the current banner, buying the rotating 4-star characters (like Bennett) is often superior to buying Fates, as those characters offer guaranteed, immediate power increases via Constellations.

Acquaint Fates (Blue Fates)

These are for the Standard Banner. Acquaint Fates should generally be avoided unless you have already purchased all available rotating 4-star characters and have maxed out the 4-star weapons you care about in the standard shop.
