How do you use ephemeral content as a marketing tool? Convinced yet? In this section, I'll give you some ideas for using ephemeral content yourself.
Account Takeovers For example, you could have an employee take over your account for a day, guiding your followers through a typical workday or giving them a tour of the office. This gives you a personal glimpse behind the scenes. Be sure the influencer is a good fit for your company, otherwise, it won't come across as authentic. The influencer can then, for example, use employee interviews to highlight your company in a unique way.
Breathing new life into old content Ephemeral content doesn't always have to be "new." It's actually efficient to reuse content you've already created.
Suppose you've written a blog post and want to reach a younger audience. It can be very effective to visually incorporate snippets from that post into Stories. You could even add engagement features like polls or "Ask a question" stickers. Another handy way to add a link to the full post is to ensure people genuinely interested can continue reading. On Instagram and Snapchat, for example, you can do this with a "Swipe up to read more" link.
Using your users' input as content By cleverly leveraging your followers' input, you can easily create engaging content. Think, for example, of an interactive Q&A session with your followers, or reposting stories, videos, images, or user reviews about your product or service.
Contests and giveaways Run a contest or give something away to your followers.
Live video Many of the examples we discussed above can also be used in conjunction with live video. For example, a live Q&A session where users can ask their questions in real time, a live interview, or a live tour of the office.
