Malegra FXT Plus is not typically used for pulmonary hypertension (PH). This medication is a combination of sildenafil citrate and fluoxetine, primarily prescribed for men dealing with erectile dysfunction (ED) and premature ejaculation (PE). While sildenafil citrate, one of its components, is sometimes used under different brand names and dosages (such as Revatio) to manage pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), Malegra FXT Plus itself is not approved or formulated for this condition. The added fluoxetine, an antidepressant, makes it unsuitable for PH treatment, as it addresses sexual performance issues rather than vascular problems. Anyone requiring management of pulmonary hypertension should seek specialized treatments specifically designed and approved for that condition, under the guidance of a cardiologist or pulmonologist.
