Vidalista (which contains tadalafil, the same active ingredient as Cialis) is often used safely by men with diabetes to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), which is a common complication of the condition. However, there are certain situations where Vidalista is not recommended for diabetics, or should only be used with caution and medical supervision.   Tadalafil can put extra strain on the heart and blood vessels, making side effects more likely or severe in uncontrolled diabetics. Concurrent Use of Nitrates or Certain BP Medications Many diabetics take nitrates for heart disease or alpha-blockers for blood Vidalista or prostate issues. If you have advanced nerve damage or diabetic eye disease, tadalafil can: Worsen retinal blood flow Possibly increase risk of optic nerve damage (NAION)—a rare, serious condition causing vision loss Diabetes can affect kidney or liver function, and tadalafil is metabolized through the liver and excreted through the kidneys. In these cases, Vidalista may build up in the body and increase side effects or toxicity. No conflicting heart medications (especially nitrates) Kidney and liver function are within normal range No history of vision problems or retinal disease
