Poxet 90 mg is a medication that contains the active ingredient Dapoxetine, which is primarily used to treat premature ejaculation in men. It works by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin in the brain, helping to increase the time it takes to ejaculate and improving control over ejaculation. However, when it comes to mixing Poxet 90 mg with other medications, especially nitrates, caution is advised. Here’s why: Why Should You Avoid Mixing Poxet 90 mg with Nitrates? Nitrates are medications commonly used to treat angina (chest pain) and heart conditions. They work by relaxing and dilating blood vessels, improving blood flow and reducing the heart's workload. Common examples of nitrate medications include nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, and other nitrate-based drugs used for cardiovascular issues. Poxet 90 mg and nitrate medications both affect the cardiovascular system by influencing blood pressure and blood flow. When these medications are taken together, they can lead to dangerous interactions: Risk of Severe Drop in Blood Pressure: Dapoxetine (Poxet) can cause a slight decrease in blood pressure, especially when standing up quickly. Nitrates also lower blood pressure, but when taken with Poxet 90 mg, they can cause a severe drop in blood pressure (hypotension), which may result in dizziness, fainting, or even more serious cardiovascular events, such as heart attack or stroke. Increased Risk of Dizziness or Fainting: Both Poxet 90 mg and nitrates can cause dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting, particularly when standing up after sitting or lying down (orthostatic hypotension).
