zopiclone is a sleeping medication that is used to treat insomnia. Zopiclone is a sleeping pill that belongs to the non-benzodiazepine hypnotics class of drugs. It is not the same as benzodiazepine sedative hypnotics like Halcion (triazolam), but it has similar benefits and side effects.
zopisign 10mg and zopisign 7.5 shortens the time it takes you to fall asleep (sleep latency), lengthens your sleep (sleep duration), and reduces the number of times you wake up at night (nocturnal awakenings). zopisign begins to work quickly and lasts about an hour.
Zopiclone works by binding to the gamma-aminobutyric acid type A (GABAA) receptor in your brain and enhancing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger that has a calming effect.
