The cabriolet, a two-wheeled, one-horse carriage that was frequently available for hire, is where the word "cab" originates. We use the terms "cab" and "taxi" interchangeably to describe a particular class Taxi Services Company in USA of chauffeur-driven car. There is no difference in the meaning of these two terms, despite what some people might think. Between a cab and a limousine, there is actually no distinction. Every English-speaking country uses both of these terms equally.
